CarolinaLink Launches New Website

Raleigh, NC
– CarolinaLink, the policy advocacy group representing North Carolina’s seven communications cooperatives, announced today a rebranding of the Coalition’s name and launch of a new website. The announcement is made in conjunction with Governor Roy Cooper’s proclamation designating August 17-21 as Rural Broadband Week in North Carolina. The new website supports the Coalition’s recent name change from the North Carolina Telephone Cooperative Coalition to the North Carolina Broadband Cooperative Coalition. The new name more accurately reflects the mission of the organization and its focus on rural broadband and describes the state-of-the-art services currently being provided by Coalition members. The Coalition’s new website offers a simple, clean design with new features that improve the site’s functionality and navigation. The site is mobile-friendly and compatible across more browsers allowing for convenient use on multiple device types.

CarolinaLink represents the interests of North Carolina’s rural broadband cooperatives and their members at both the state and federal level. The organization lobbies on behalf of their members to work toward legislation that benefits North Carolinians through the expansion of broadband in rural areas. The new website features information about each of the coalition’s seven member cooperatives as well as current and ongoing communications projects, advocacy issues, community news and more.

“We are excited to launch this new website which will help us better represent the incredible work being done by our broadband coalition members,” commented Dwight Allen, Executive Vice President of CarolinaLink. “The goal for this site is to inform the public about the success of our members in providing broadband to the areas they serve, provide valuable, up-to-date information about our members and to also create a central place for the public and policymakers to find out more about rural broadband across the state, as well as other issues impacting rural communities.”

The CarolinaLink website will be updated on a regular basis with new information about advocacy issues, the status of broadband projects, member achievements and more. Visitors are encouraged to explore the website by visiting www.carolinalink.org or www.ncruralbroadband.com.
